Celeste

Nothing is more comforting then a loyal dog. Our Border collie, Celeste is a comfort to us all, even as she gooses us in the hiney. I remind Ana Maria, (who is living in our guest cottage) that Celeste is a sheep herding dog and she is just trying to move Ana Maria along!
Celeste was the mother of 7 Border collie puppies one Christmas, we just watched the video recently of all those chubby puppies filling our kitchen with joy.
My devotions included a verse "They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever.
Celeste has been a picture of God's unfailing and unconditional love to us!

I love weddings

Ellen and Devin Wilson promised to love and cherish each other in the covenant of marriage on Saturday. It was a marvelous celebration as they became one in Christ, especially for those of us who saw Ellen grow up into such a lovely woman!

Thirty Sixth Anniversary

"I was a father to the needy,and I searched out the case I did not know.
I broke the fangs of the wicked, and plucked the victim from his teeth." Job 29:16-17

Today marks the thirty sixth anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court ruling that made abortion legal. Those who support life for the unborn grieve the 50 million babies lost to abortion. We also grieve the new pro-abortion leadership in Washington that intends to make it a common medical procedure paid for by our tax dollars! They want to take away parental notification and laws banning partial birth abortion.
You can make a difference by supporting the National Right to Life. Become a member and start to be informed, so you can give support both financially and with your fervent prayers to those who desire to give life to their unborn babies!
The address is :
National Right to Life Committee
512 10th Street, N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20004-1401

Lord, please stop the onslaught and protect the innocents!
Thank you for this the very first year of our precious granddaughter.
Amen.

The Gift of Life

Today was Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. We watched Gabriella, an adorable Bethany foster baby during the church service for our friends, the Whartons. We attended the annual special service to affirm life at the National Memorial for the Unborn. I introduced our speaker and spoke of the ways the Memorial has ministered to people all over the world during the past year. Carol Martin, the director, spoke of God's faithfulness and forgiveness. Attendees came from all over -- several places in Tennessee and Georgia. And the weather was beautiful, after several days of freezing cold!
After that we celebrated the life and birthday of our granddaughter Molly, now a year old! We used our computer Skype program to listen to her giggle and watch her eat a banana. What a wonderful new little life she is. We are thankful to God for little Miss Molly Jane!

Walking in the Light

We are celebrating the Epiphany season. In church we sang the song that Henry and I chose to have everyone sing at our wedding thirty four years ago. It brought back great memories! (We held hands.)

I want to walk as a child of the light;
I want to follow Jesus
God sent the stars to give light to the world
The star of my life is Jesus.

Chorus:
In Him there is no darkness at all,
The night and the day are both alike;
The Lamb is the light of the city of God;
Shine out of my heart, Lord Jesus

I want to kneel at the feet of the King;
I want to worship Jesus,
He showed His love when He died on the cross;
The light of my life is Jesus.

I want to walk as a child of the King;
I want to glorify Jesus
He reigns in heaven at the right hand of God,
soon to come again for us.

Comforting words to sing in tough times.
"Cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you." I Peter 5:7

Sorrow and Blessings

Henry's mother, Jane Bowers, had a stroke the day after Thanksgiving. She was at her daughter's house and surrounded with loved ones when it happened. She was brought back to Chattanooga, where she spent several weeks at Memorial Hospital, close to death. Right before Christmas, Granny B stabilized, so we moved her to St. Barnabas Nursing Home, just blocks from Vine Street, where she grew up!
It has been difficult to see her in such a weakened state, yet we know this is not the end. We have a living Hope of everlasting Life in Christ Jesus.
And it has been a huge blessing to see the support from so many loved ones and family. It was unexpected, but wonderful to have all 4 Williams children together for New Year's Day!

Women in the family

The womenfolk enjoyed adding a new member to our clan this year. It was so great to have a tiny little woman to join the clan...Miss Molly Jane joined our celebrations! She liked the paper more than the presents and even came along for the race downtown on New Year's Eve!

Navajo Tacos

A big reward of running on New Year's Eve is delicious Indian fry bread topped with taco fixings!
This has been a Williams' household tradition for 30 years! YUM!!!

Happy New Year

The Williams clan and Wendy's sisters and Henry's sister and various brother-in-laws and niece and nephew did the annual New Year's Eve race downtown to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. It is a great way to welcome in the New Year...feeling healthy after our race. some did the fun 2 mile walk and others the 4 mile run!
