Seeing Sylvie

This weekend, Henry and I went to a Bethany picnic to celebrate adoption. We are so thankful for the men and women God has brought to run the office in Chattanooga. It has been a blessing every year to see many children who had been placed in as infants waiting adoption into Christian families. Seeing Sylvie who we had the privilege of loving and caring for in our home is now 4 years old. Having her give "Miss Wendy" a hug is worth more than many earthly treasures people might desire. To witness Sylvie, now Chenoah, with her older sister Cheyenne, running and laughing, is to see God's faithfulness in action. We prayed for a family and God answered in a marvelous way. She has loving parents and a big sister and they both have Indian names because her dad is part black and part Native American. Her mom reports that Sylvie is still strong willed, just as I wrote about in our book, Empty Arms...even bossing her big sister around. Thank you, Lord, that Jesus is our elder brother and that we are adopted into your forever family!
